Hello everyone! Welcome back to the lab. Today is all about what you’ll be hearing! We’ve been tinkering deep under the hood to ensure that brewing your potions in Sigil Brew not only plays fantastically but sounds incredible too. 🎵✨
✅ What’s already bubbling in the cauldron (Audio Tuning)
The settings menu received a major update to give you full control over your soundscape:
Precise Sliders: Instead of a simple "Sound On/Off" switch, there are now full sliders for music and sound effects. Want to crank up the atmospheric background music while keeping the cauldron's bubbling subtle? Now you can mix the sound exactly how you need it!
Dynamic Acoustics: The sliders react instantly and smoothly, allowing you to find your perfect audio recipe at any time during the game.
🔜 What we’re conjuring next (Cinematic Moments)
The transition from your cozy chapter room into the actual puzzle level felt a bit too "unpolished." We’re changing that with a healthy dose of magic:
Smooth Fades: When you start a new level, a soft, cinematic transition awaits. The screen will gently fade out and back in instead of just jumping.
Musical Flow: We’re working on elegant "fades." The hub music will quiet down as the level music slowly fades in. Every transition should feel seamless.
🛠️ A Look Under the Hood (Graphic Ghosts & Word Magic)
Implementing these sliders brought its own set of technical challenges:
The Layer Check: We solved a tricky issue where slider labels were accidentally drawn "behind" the menu, making them invisible. Now, every letter sits exactly where it belongs!
Language Hub: Our internal translation system has been streamlined. Words like "Music" or "Sound Effects" now switch lightning-fast between German and English, no matter how deep they are hidden in the menus.
A small greeting from the workshop: This update lays the acoustic foundation for everything to come. It’s great to see (and hear!) the world of Sigil Brew becoming more alive every day. As we take off our headphones, Teddy, Shiva, and Flauschi are taking a break from all the "test bubbling."
Keep the cauldrons warm – we’ll hear from each other in the next update! 🔮🐾
🧪✨ DevLog: The "Pet Team" Takes Command!
April 4, 2026
Hello everyone! The lights in the lab burned extra late today as we refined a concept close to our hearts: How do we reward your loyalty in the final game without stressing you out? We believe real life is turbulent enough – your witch’s lab should be a place of relaxation. 🐾
✅ What’s already bubbling in the cauldron (Daily Puzzle & Calendar)
We’ve laid the technical foundation for our "Daily Puzzle" system. The idea: A unique puzzle awaits you in the lab every single day.
No Streak Stress: We’ve all been there – you play six days in a row, forget the seventh, and BOOM, all progress is gone. We think that’s outdated! That’s why we’ve built in a "grace period." Your streak won’t break immediately with us.
The Alchemist’s License: We designed the menu for a special 30-day calendar. With this license, you can relaxingly catch up on missed days on a Sunday and simply "repair" your streak.
🔜 What we’re conjuring next (The Animal "Executive Office")
We’re saying goodbye to boring, sterile in-game shops. Why click gray buttons when you can support our developer pet team instead? We’re integrating our fluffy roommates directly into the game design:
Teddy (Head of Finance): He’ll be guarding the shop! If you want to support us and the further development, your contributions help reach humorous goals like "Teddy’s Gold Collar." 💸
Flauschi (QA & Chaos Management): If a puzzle seems absolutely unsolvable, she can step in as a joker. Like a real cat, she’ll run across the board and reshuffle the puzzle chaos for you. 🧶
Shiva (Lead Game Designer): Thinking too hard? Shiva will use her fine nose to sniff out the perfect next move from the cauldrons for you. 🐕
🛠️ A Look Under the Hood (Menus & Code Frameworks)
Behind the scenes, we moved the digital "furniture" for these systems:
Living Menus: We’ve built the complete code frameworks for our animal helpers. It already feels incredibly alive when Teddy and Co. "have their say" in the code.
Architecture Check: We’re ensuring the calendar and rewards sync with real-world time so your progress is always saved correctly.
A small greeting from the workshop: It’s so wonderful to see Sigil Brew gaining its own soul through our animal companions. We’re working hard on the first stable build and are thrilled about every bit of progress in the developer kitchen.
Stay magical – we’ll be over here petting the executive board! 🔮🐾
🧪✨ DevLog: Of Smart Helpers and Secure Vaults
March 26, 2026
Hello everyone! Things are getting quite technical in the witch's lab right now. We’re working on systems to lend you a hand when a puzzle gets particularly stubborn, and ensuring your progress is stored as safely as the most precious ingredients in a master’s cabinet! 🛡️✨
✅ What’s already bubbling in the cauldron (Smart-Hints & Security)
The Button that Thinks: Our new hint system is now much smarter! If you run out of regular hints, the game offers a short break to regenerate new tips. And if a level really annoys you: we’ve built in a function to skip to the next puzzle after three attempts. Frustration is banned from the lab!
Vault Security: We’ve secured the "Alchemy Kitchen." Your future save games will now be protected with modern encryption. This ensures your achievements and unlocked sigils always stay exactly where they belong—safe and sound!
🔜 What we’re conjuring next (Light and Shadow)
Magical Mixes: We’re teaching the system to mix the tricky Shadow and Light sigils into the puzzles even more refinedly.
Chapter Preview: We’re preparing the level layouts for the later sections. Get ready: it’s guaranteed to be as tricky as it should be!
🛠️ A Look Under the Hood (Time-Magic & Fairness)
Real Server Time: We’ve linked the game with a time check. This prevents "time manipulation" via the phone’s clock to trick the system.
Precision Check: We’re ensuring all time-based functions (like hint regeneration) run absolutely fairly and reliably, no matter where in the world you are.
A small greeting from the workshop: It’s great to see the technical gears mesh better and better. While we polish the encryption codes, Teddy, Shiva, and Flauschi are enjoying a well-deserved break on top of the warm server housings. We continue to fine-tune the perfect balance between challenge and relaxation for you.
Stay magical and until the next update! 🔮🐾
🧪✨ DevLog: Of Glorious Mistakes and Majestic Sparks
March 25, 2026
Hello, Brewmasters! 🧪✨ Today we spent the day smoothing out the edges of our magic. Our goal: Puzzling shouldn’t just feel good; it should feel downright majestic and relaxing! Grab a pillow; let’s look into the cauldron.
✅ What’s already bubbling in the cauldron (The Perfect Game Feel)
Moment of Triumph: We noticed the "Level Clear" screen popped up a bit too hastily—almost like it wanted to scare us! We’ve now given it a small, tactical delay and a soft fade-in. Now you can watch the sparks fly in peace before the menu appears smoothly.
Total Puzzle Freedom: We’ve cut the "safety lines"! From now on, you have absolute freedom to experiment. You’re now allowed to maneuver yourself into a dead end until no more moves are physically possible. Why? Because trying and failing is simply part of the learning process here!
🔜 What we’re conjuring next (Smart Helpers)
Brain Update: Our "Editor Robot" (the system that helps us build levels) has become a lot smarter. The algorithm now ensures there are always multiple paths to the goal, so the puzzles feel varied, especially at the beginning.
More Variety: We’re tinkering with more patterns for sigil arrangements so every new level holds a small visual surprise.
🛠️ A Look Under the Hood (Spring Cleaning in the Toolbox)
Squeaky Clean Menus: We’ve tidied up our internal tools. All special settings for development are now neatly bundled under their own tab. A tidy toolbox sharpens the mind!
Optimized Workflow: This order allows us to try out new level ideas even faster and test them directly in the game without having to search long for the right "wand."
A small greeting from the workshop: It’s a lot of fun to see Sigil Brew becoming a bit more rounded and glorious every day. While we continue to work on the perfect curve for your sparks, Teddy, Shiva, and Flauschi are visibly enjoying the relaxed atmosphere in the lab. We can’t wait to serve you the first real tastes.
Until then: keep your wands ready and stay magical! 🔮🐾
🧪✨ DevLog: A Huge Leap – Sigil Brew on your Smartphone!
March 22, 2026
Hello everyone! Today there’s a reason to celebrate in the lab (and for an extra round of treats for Teddy, Shiva, and Flauschi). We’ve reached a major milestone: Sigil Brew has moved from the test environment directly onto real Android devices! 🚀📱
✅ What’s already bubbling in the cauldron (The Leap into the Console)
Real-time Tests: We’ve uploaded the first official test version! This allows us to take Sigil Brew directly into our hands on various smartphones and check if the magic feels equally good everywhere.
Ready for the World: All technical preparations (like identification numbers and language packs for German and English) have been made. We’re ready when the gates open later!
🔜 What we’re conjuring next (Feedback & Polishing)
Gameplay Check: We’re using internal tests to see where we still need to turn the dials to make the puzzling run perfectly fluidly.
The Eye Puzzles too: We’re polishing the last rough edges so the graphics shine in full glory on every screen—no matter how large or small.
🛠️ A Look Under the Hood (Particle Cleaning & Password Pitfalls)
Color Wonder: We had an issue with "overexposed" particles. Instead of colorful magic, we only saw glaring white blobs. We recalculated the light formulas—now the colors glow exactly as they should! ✨
Manual Labor: We learned the hard way that technology is sometimes old-fashioned. A small bug prevented copying passwords while building the app. Lesson learned: Important spells are still best typed by hand! ✍️
A small greeting from the workshop: With this stable build on the test servers, the goal is a huge step closer. We can’t wait to see Sigil Brew continue to grow! Teddy and the whole team (who are all wagging their tails with joy right now) thank you for your loyal accompaniment on this journey!
Stay magical – we’re going to test on the phone now! 🔮🐾
🧪✨ DevLog: Less Heat, More FPS – The Cauldron Recycling Plant
March 21, 2026
Hello everyone! Ever wondered why magic sometimes gets quite hot? Today we turned up the AC in the lab—within the code. We’re making sure your smartphones stay as cool as an Ice Sigil in winter while you're puzzling! ❄️📱
✅ What’s already bubbling in the cauldron (Performance Magic)
Cauldron Recycling (Object Pooling): Previously, every time a level restarted, we destroyed every magical cauldron and created them anew from nothing. That sounded dramatic but cost unnecessary energy.
Sustainable Alchemy: From now on, cauldrons aren’t destroyed during a reset but "pushed into the corner" and recycled instantly. Result: Buttery smooth transitions and significantly more battery life for your puzzle sessions!
🔜 What we’re conjuring next (UI Construction Kit)
The Relaxed Librarian: Imagine an overzealous librarian drawing every single button in the game live by hand while you actually want to play. We’ve broken him of that habit!
Visual Freedom: We’re switching the system so we can design menus and displays much faster and more beautifully without the game having to work hard in the background.
🛠️ A Look Under the Hood (The Code Barber)
700 Lines Less: We simply deleted over 700 lines of complicated UI code! Instead, we now use a modern, visual system. This makes the game faster and allows us to implement changes much quicker.
Leaner Engine: Less code means fewer sources of error. The project feels much lighter and tidier now—ready for all the graphical gimmicks to come.
A small greeting from the workshop: It’s a great feeling when the game becomes smoother and "lighter" with every update. While Teddy, Shiva, and Flauschi use the newly gained space in the lab for a game of tag, we continue to polish the visuals.
Stay magical – and save your battery for the truly tricky puzzles! 🔮✨
🧪✨ DevLog: Magic Under the Hood – The Architecture Update
March 21, 2026
Hello everyone! Today we stuck the wand deep into the source code of Sigil Brew. While our fluffy lab assistants took an extensive nap in the sun, we completely recast the foundations of our magic school. 🐾
✅ What’s already bubbling in the cauldron (Architecture News)
Fluid Travel: We’ve changed the room transition system. Instead of staring at long loading bars, the rooms of the magic school now flow seamlessly into one another. This saves storage space on your phone and just feels much more magical!
The Level Factory: To offer you hundreds of tricky puzzles later, we’ve built a "Level Factory." A lightning-fast algorithm checks every puzzle in the background to ensure it’s actually solvable and has exactly the right difficulty level.
Energy-Saving Sparkle: Our alchemy cauldrons glow more beautifully than ever! Thanks to a new graphics technique, the effects sparkle with a bright core without making your battery sweat.
🔜 What we’re conjuring next (Room Design)
Our team – including CEO Teddy (who usually oversees the whole thing during a strategic nap) and his diligent assistants Shiva and Flauschi – is working hard to give every place in the school its own soul:
Unique Atmosphere: From the dusty, cozy library to the glowing alchemy lab – we design every area to tell its own story.
Interactive Details: We’re adding small animations and details that bring the world to life while you sort your sigils.
🛠️ A Look Under the Hood (Moving Furniture in Code)
Thanks to our new internal tools, we can now "furnish" the rooms of the school almost as easily as moving furniture in a real room.
Efficient Design: These new tools allow us to place and test level elements and decorations lightning-fast. This saves us development time and gives us more freedom to be creative!
Optimized Workflow: What used to take hours now works via "drag-and-drop." This means for you: more variety in the finished world!
A small greeting from the workshop: It’s a great feeling to see bare numbers and lines of code slowly becoming a real, inhabitable magic school. We’re already looking forward to showing you the first fully furnished rooms soon!
Stay magical – we’ll keep moving virtual cabinets in the meantime! 🔮✨
🧪✨ DevLog: When Math Cries and Art Wins!
March 21, 2026
Hello everyone! Grab a potion and sit down – today we’re telling you a story about who’s actually the boss in the lab. Spoiler: it’s geometry. We tried to tame our magical chapter corridor, and the path there was... well, let’s call it "experimental." 🧙♂️
✅ What’s already bubbling in the cauldron (The Corridor Breakthrough)
We wanted to be clever and tried to build the corridor like a paper theater stage out of many individual 3D parts. The result? Floating walls, a floor like a shaky surfboard, and a door that stuck halfway through the room. It was beautiful abstract art – but unfortunately absolutely unplayable. 🧟♂️
The Rescue by Art: We threw the complicated technical approach overboard. Instead of 50 parts, we now use a single, masterfully hand-drawn artwork that captures the perspective perfectly.
Parallax Pull: Thanks to a new script, the camera now glides smoothly into this image. No more gaps, no more flying walls – just a flawless, magical pull that draws you directly into the world.
🔜 What we’re conjuring next (Cinematic Rides)
To make the journey through the lab feel like a real blockbuster, we’re currently refining the camera magic:
The Sharpness Guardian: We wrote a script that stops the camera exactly at the moment before the image could become blurry. This keeps the view of the runes on the door crystal clear. 👁️
The "Look Up": When you rush into the corridor, the camera no longer stares stubbornly at the floor but elegantly lifts its "head." A tiny line of code, but it feels like a Hollywood camera move now!
🛠️ A Look Under the Hood (Less is More)
Sometimes as an alchemist, you have to pour out a failed brew to make room for the right recipe.
Farewell to the Effect Storm: For a short time, we had the urge to stuff everything with particles, green glows, and floating 3D dust. It looked great but just didn't fit the clear, hand-drawn charm of Sigil Brew.
Focus on Clarity: We courageously deleted the shader overkill (Rest in peace, little digital dust!). Sigil Brew benefits much more from its strong, clean look than from unnecessary effect chaos.
A small greeting from the workshop: Today we wrote a lot of code, deleted even more, and in the end created an incredibly sharp and immersive scene guide. It’s starting to brew together really well! ☕🔥
Stay magical – and don’t forget to stir your potions regularly! 🔮✨
🧪✨ DevLog: Spring Cleaning in the Code & Stubborn Signposts
March 19, 2026
Hello everyone! Grab a broom because we’ve had a major clear-out in the lab. While the logic behind our potions is now running as precisely as clockwork, the signposts in our new witch-hub are still putting up a bit of resistance. But don't worry – we’ll tame the magic yet! 🐾
✅ What’s already bubbling in the cauldron (Deep Refactoring)
Under the hood, Sigil Brew is now a real powerhouse. We’ve turned the architecture inside out to make sure everything runs smoothly:
Performance Boost: Our puzzle-solving system now consumes almost no energy. Instead of constantly writing new lists, we only "borrow" the memory space briefly. This saves your smartphone battery significantly!
Clean Communication: We’ve rewired the "cords" in the background. The controls and the cauldron display now talk to each other via clear signals without getting tangled.
Big Clear-Out: We’ve removed old, unused spells and code remains from the cauldrons. The project is now as clear as a freshly sorted ingredient shelf.
🔜 What we’re conjuring next (The Hub Node)
We’re currently working on the heart of navigation – the level selection map. There are still a few magical discrepancies here:
Intelligent Paths: The level nodes are actually supposed to distribute themselves evenly in the lab. Currently, they are all still cuddling in one corner on the floor. We’re working on the mathematical formula to make the path to the next door look clear and inviting.
Visible Progress: We’re working on the visibility of level numbers and connecting lines. Currently, they are playing hide and seek or glowing in an (unintentional) bright pink.
🛠️ A Look Under the Hood (Error Analysis in the Frontend)
Unity is currently baring its teeth at us regarding visual stability. Therefore, we are going back to the drawing board:
Layer Check: We’re re-sorting the graphical layers so that text and symbols don't disappear behind the floor.
Space Transformation: We’re ensuring the calculated positions of the levels actually arrive one-to-one in the game world so the entire lab is used as a playing surface.
A small greeting from the workshop: Technically, the engine under the hood is now really fast and clean. Now we’re concentrating on making the "frontend" – what you see – feel just as magical and stable. Fewer complicated formulas, more focus on the right game feel!
Stay magical – we’ll get those stubborn nodes tied down! 🔮✨
🧪✨ DevLog: Of Glowing Stones and Bouncing Cauldrons
March 06, 2026
Hello everyone! Grab a glass of dragon-soda because the lights in the lab are burning late tonight. We’ve made a huge leap in terms of the look and feel of our magical mixtures. Sigil Brew no longer just looks like work – it’s starting to glitter! 🌟
✅ What’s already bubbling in the cauldron (Visual & Logic Polish)
We’ve polished quite a bit so your eyes have as much fun puzzling as your brain:
Magical Glow: Our stones now have their own aura! Each sigil now creates a rich, inner glow, as if real energy were slumbering inside.
Bouncing Cauldrons: The cauldrons now react instantly with a cheerful "bounce" animation and a golden border when you select them. Feedback is everything in alchemy!
Contrast Cure: To make sure you don't confuse wind and earth, the wind sigils now have a fancy black outline and the glass of the cauldrons has been "cleaned" a bit.
🔜 What we’re conjuring next (In Planning)
To make the world of Sigil Brew even more alive, these points are on our magic plan:
Background Variations: We’re refining our new background system so the lab design fits perfectly on your screen in every chapter.
Level Presentation: We’re working on the way levels are presented to you so the transition from the lab to the puzzle action feels even more magical.
🛠️ A Look Under the Hood (Tech & Bug Devils)
Even we wizards stumble over our own robes sometimes. Here’s a little look into our technical spellbook:
Comment Chaos: We learned that Unity’s memory (the YAML parser) doesn't like notes in the form of hashes (#). This caused some confusion for a short time but has now been fixed!
Stack Magic: We’re now using a new layer system (Sorting Order) so glows and outlines no longer get in each other's way.
A small greeting from the workshop: Sharing this progress simply brings us huge joy. Thanks for looking over our shoulders during this adventure!
Stay magical – the next update is already brewing! 🔮✨
🧪✨ DevLog: A Look into the Bubbling Cauldron of Sigil Brew!
March 06, 2026
Hello, aspiring Master Alchemists! 🧙♂️✨ Grab a stool, watch out not to trip over the roots, and welcome to our (still very secret) witch's lab! While the official company sign outside is still in the carving process and the gates to the online world are still secured with thick padlocks, we are working at full speed behind the scenes on the perfect recipe for Sigil Brew. Here is an exclusive look over the shoulder (please don't sneeze into the cauldron!):
✅ What’s already bubbling in the cauldron (The Tech is Ready!)
Our first magical attempts weren't explosions but real successes! The mechanical foundations already feel really smooth:
The Cauldron Logic: Our sigils (Fire, Earth, Water – the usual assortment) already know where they belong. The system recognizes groups of identical sigils as reliably as a cat finds the fullest food bowl.
No Room? No Move! We’ve already taught the game that you can’t stuff more into a cauldron than fits. Strategic thinking is a must now so nothing overflows!
The "Oops!" Button: We know how it is when you accidentally catch a pinch of dragon scale too much. That’s why our free undo system is already fully operational. Mistakes are just learning steps for us!
Tactile Feel: Controls for smartphones already react precisely. A tap, a swipe – and the magic flows exactly where you want it.
🔜 What we’re conjuring next (In Progress)
The game runs, but it’s still missing the "glitter" in the brew. Here is our current magic plan:
Tricky Sigils: We’re currently building the shadow sigils (which hide nastily) and the light sigils, which will be your rescue as jokers.
Cauldron Chaos: Look forward to sealed cauldrons that want to be cracked first, and overflow variants for the true puzzle pros.
The Eye Plays Too: Currently everything still looks like "developer magic" (a bit abstract). But soon we’ll move lock, stock, and barrel into our beautiful, isometric witch's lab!
Stickers/Achievements: A 3-star system and daily hints are in the works so long-term witches always have something to do.
🛠️ A Look Under the Hood
We’re currently polishing the gears under the cauldron. Our goal: Sigil Brew should run as smoothly on your phone as liquid gold – while saving the battery so much that you can continue puzzling even in the deepest forest. We’re throwing out the ugly placeholder graphics and replacing them with smooth animations. Important to know: Although we aren't "officially" founded yet and the servers are still fast asleep, we are sharing this journey with you now because we simply love puzzle games above all else.
Stay tuned – the next magical updates are already in the works! 🔮✨
